Transfer season is probably one of the most exciting and important times in the soccer world. Players all around the world have the opportunity to move to different clubs as they begin to face new challenges in unknown territory. Some of the biggest names of the transfer world right now is Sancho and Ziyech. Sancho has had an amazing season at the club Dortmund in Germany. He has proven to be a wonder boy and has promise to become a world class player one day. Though he is performing well in the German League, it seems that he wants to return home to the premier league and further his development. Many clubs are interested in him, but the main club that is pursuing him is Manchester United. Based on United’s current season and the fact that they need to build a strong team for the next season, Sancho would be a perfect fit for the team in order to reinforce their weak attack that is lacking the injured striker Rashford who has been a vital point in United’s attack this season. The other big name is Ziyech, who is set to leave Ajax from the Netherlands league. Ajax had an amazing season last year with some of the biggest names being De Ligt who moved to Juventus and De Jong who moved to Barcelona. Their team were favorites to win the Champions League last year but were ultimately stopped by England power house Spurs. Although some of the best players from the 2018 – 2019 Ajax team has left, Ziyech has still proven to be an amazing player in his own right. South-West London based power house Chelsea have already had talks with Ziyech and his representatives and he is set to move to the club either at the end of the season or as soon as possible. Ziyech’s quick thinking and amazing dribbling would greatly help Chelsea to change their tenacity and speed in games.

Manchester United needs to improve quickly. The transfer window is a time when clubs have the opportunity to trade players from club to club. As of right now, Man United are having a tough time in the Premier League with them having many failing performances against clubs that should be easy to beat. At the helm of the club is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is a retired player who played for United during their golden age under the management of the great Sir Alex Ferguson, who is one of the best managers to have graced the soccer pitch. Ole’s approach to United has been one that many have seen as unorthodox. Rather than splashing the vast wealth that Man United have on great talent from other clubs, he is choosing to develop young talent at the club in the first team, which is the team’s starting lineup for matches against other clubs. The only problem with this approach is that the youngsters that are being chosen to start and play the matches are inexperienced. This has been the root of Uniteds problem with this season being one of their worst in a long time. Ole has been looking around and has been linked to signing an amazing player from the Portuguese league called Bruno Fernandes, who is a very promising player to help reinforce the midfield of the team with experience and great talent. Ole has stated before that his intention is to develop these young players for the next season and that this season is more of a “intermission”, but fans are having other thoughts of this. Manchester United being the giant that they are in the soccer world, it is unusual for them to be in such a damaged state in the English Premier League. Fans are worried and speculations of the club firing Ole for his poor performance this last year. Many are saying to trust Ole in his decision to develop these young players this season so when the next season comes around, things will be different. I personally agree with this and I would like to see what he has in store for the next season with these young developed players and hopefully newly signed stars either this January transfer window or the one during the summer.

Liverpool is on top of the world right now. They are doing better than any soccer team in the world at the moment with a full year being unbeaten in any competition. Not only that, but they currently hold the title of best team in the world with the latest Champions League Trophy win. Although they have won the best silverware a professional soccer team can win, they are hungry for something more. Winning the English Premier League is also a big feat that they almost took last year, but being beaten by Manchester City by 1 point in the League Table, they were not able to end their win-less drought in the Premier League that has spanned 30 years. But, with the development of players, signing of players, being undefeated in the League so far, and coming of a fantastic Champions League performance, Liverpool are ready to end their drought this year. With the likes of Salah, Sane, and Van Dijk leading the team to victory after victory for an entire year, they do not show any signs of slowing down. Top tier teams like Spurs, Manchester City, and the fallen giants Manchester United have no chance of catching up to Liverpool and passing them on the table or even giving them any competition for the League Trophy. It is unfortunate for a Manchester United fan to say this but 2020 is Liverpool’s year.
